We are looking for a dedicated  Junior Electrical Design Engineer with an attention to detail and a passion for high quality work. This role will  assist with the design, build and documentation of our UL 508A control panels and cabling for custom automated equipment.  The person in this role will join our skilled technical staff and will be required to work on-site Monday-Friday.  This position can be tailored for part-time work for candidates that are completing their education in a related field. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who enjoys solving problems, communicates effectively, and is organized enough to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design and documentation of electrical control panels, wiring schematics, and cabling diagrams under the guidance of senior engineer(s). 
  • Support electrical design calculations including breaker sizing, wire selection, and power distribution while applying applicable electrical codes and standards. 
  • Help source properly rated components and maintain documents and certifications as related to our electrical design.
  • Maintain accurate Bill of Materials and assist electrical technicians to ensure that the manufacturing of the panels are accurately built to the design.
  • Assist with troubleshooting wiring and electrical issues during equipment assembly and startup.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality by verifying that electrical designs and completed panel assemblies conform to engineering documentation, quality procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. 
  • Keep the work area clean and all tools and supplies organized.
  • Ensure work is done safely and follows all OSHA and other safety standards.
  • Help maintain Work Instructions (SOPs) related to Assembly, Build and Test Procedures for the electrical panels. 
  • Take on additional duties as needed by the team.
  • Participate in the assembly, wiring, and testing of electrical control panels and automated equipment to validate engineering designs.

Requirements:
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Design.
  • 0-3 years relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD as well as electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Capital Electra X, or similar) is preferred. 
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
  • Ability to collaborate and remain professional in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license. 
  • Experience using multimeters, hand tools, or basic electrical test equipment. 
  • Exposure to industrial control panels, UL508A, or electrical assembly through coursework, internships, or prior work experience is a plus but not required. 

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to assemble and wire electrical control panels and mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, and work at equipment during assembly and testing.
  • Occasionally lift components weighing up to 40–50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish wire colors and perform detailed wiring work preferred.
